I was lifted
Not by noise, but by a quiet strength
By the women who stood beside me
And gently showed me how to rise.
They held mirrors, not of glass
But of deep understanding
Where I could meet my own gaze
Without turning away.
In their eyes
I was never unfinished
Never lacking
Only becoming.
They saw a version of me
I had was afraid to believe in
Seeing a light in me before I knew its name
And with their tender patience
They placed her softly in my hands.
Because of them
I stand a little taller
See a little clearer
And carry within me
The woman they always knew I could be.
They taught me how to be the haven where their happy hearts could rest
A quiet shore of love, just as they once offered their best.
