As Navratri/Durga Puja arrives the leaves turn golden and the first golden leaves begin to drift from the trees, I find myself reflecting on the beautiful parallels between nature’s seasonal changes and the inner strength we as women carry within us. Fall or autumn has always been a time of transformation—a time when nature gracefully lets go of the old to make way for the new, and in that process, it never loses its beauty.
Last year, I had the pleasure of capturing some fall moments with some incredible women, all adorned in saris, standing under canopies of golden leaves. Each of us wearing six yards of fabric, but draped in much more—stories of resilience, empowerment, and the quiet strength that connects us to our roots. This beautiful journey captured amidst fall colors is a celebration of the season and the “Shakti” – the divine energy that exists in every woman.
The sari is more than just a garment. It symbolizes grace, tradition, and strength passed down through generations. And when we stand together, wrapped in these timeless threads, it feels like we are weaving together our shared experiences of growth, challenges, and triumphs.
I remember how last fall, we were not just celebrating the beauty of autumn; we were celebrating each other, and the powerful Shakti we possess.
This experience is a reminder that we are always in a state of becoming. Much like the trees shedding their leaves to prepare for the next season, we too evolve, taking lessons from every challenge and turning them into opportunities for growth. The strength of a woman, after all, is not in how she avoids the storms, but in how she uses them to bloom brighter. Just like the vibrant colors of fall, the Shakti we embody – the divine feminine energy – brings warmth and light to everything we touch.
As we step into this season of change, may we all find the courage to embrace the transformations in our lives with grace, resilience, and unwavering belief in our inner strength.
Here’s to the power of Shakti, the beauty of tradition, and the vibrant energy we share as women.
