The Journey By Train Prose poetry by Sanjukta Das

In the journey of life A lot of people jumped onto the train Towards a destination Called “Friendship” Some found the journey Tedious and uncomfortable A journey wearisome and arduos And jumped off very fast Some stayed on Yet Midway through the journey they encountered bliss And claimed it was enough. And a little later boarded a better train Some carried on Where the seats were cushioned with ‘Mutual respect’ they said And it made their journey more comfortable Bestowing solace upon their travel Some grew weary And claimed the journey was demanding Their steps turned wobbly They bid...

Radha's MurmurRadha does not speak of itYet it lingersIt is hersA quiet pulse beneath her skinA longing in her day's endless ache. She walks the worn path through the groves Where the air is thick with the scent of jasmine and dusk. Each step is measuredEach glance stolen. Her Anantha is everywhereIn the flute’s call that threads through the windIn the dust rising from the earth where his feet once pressed. Though she knows Her Anantha is within. She heard his name in the river's murmur And felt the sky blush at her lookShe knows how a thousand hearts bloom with love For him. But Radha does not covet him for herselfShe has no longing to possessShe does not chaseShe does not reachYet something within her leansWaiting. Then the flute sings again A sound only she hears While the night held her breathRadha closes her eyesThe echo settled into her Like the hush of a sacred promise. A soft smile touches her lips As she whispers to the wind, "I can wait."Her love is not a cryIt is a hushA secret she keeps even from herself.Painting Artist Vishal MisraCopyright © Sanjukta DasFebruary 4th, 2025 ... Unspoken ReverieI have so much to tell youBut the words trembleToo fragile to hold The weight of what I feel. You walked back into my lifeAnd the air shiftedSuddenly softerFullerAs if the years apart had conspiredTo prepare this momentTo align us once againLike constellations in a familiar sky.I want to tell you How the sight of youEven after all this timeStill feels like sunlightSpilling into my shadowed cornersHow your voiceNot just a sound But a memoryA melody that carries meBack to a place I thought I had left behindLifting my heart to placesI promised myself I’d never return to.I want to tell you About the silenceThe charged electric stillnessThat lingers between usEven after yesrsThe minute our eyes metHow it feels like the rhythm Of old conversationsStill synchronizing our breathsInto something sacredSomething we’ve never Fully let go of.I need you to know How your touchEven imaginedStill leaves a markTracing invisible lines Across my soulLines that tether meTo the us we once wereTo a love that defies Both reason and time.I have so much to tell you.But even nowThese wordsNo matter how carefully chosenCan only be fragmentsOf what I still carry for you. This vast endless thingUnspoken yet undeniableStill whispers your nameWith every exhale of my soul. And soAs I sit hereLooking at youI say nothingTo the others. For what I feel Is too much for wordsBut perhapsYou already know.Copyright © Sanjukta DasJanuary 19th, 2025 ...
