As a Life Coach I have been often asked how does one heal old hurting emotions. Memories of emotions that that still hurt. Wounds from childhood experiences that still show up in the memory and cause pain.
In my journey of healing and providing support as a life coach, I have started believing that old emotions and wounds are still present deep inside us like an illusion. When one feels that you have many deep wounds and childhood emotions within and that you want to heal them, then you are doing something that is quite not possible. It’s like trying to catch the rising smoke from an incense stick. Or even trying to grab the essence that it is emitting.
Does this sound unreal?
Every time you revisit an old memory, and you feel pain and you tell yourself that this is something you want to erase and heal, you are actually doing just the reverse. You are actually reinforcing those experiences.
And that is precisely why going for many years for counseling but still you’ll find that you are not healed, that there is something still present. You may feel some momentary relief but the old emotions keep coming back. Many of my clients have encountered this during their counseling or therapy journey. The phrase “going for many years for counseling” suggests that the person has been engaged in ongoing therapy or counseling sessions for an extended period. Although they have been dealing with emotional or psychological issues that are deeply rooted, stemming from childhood experiences, trauma, or unresolved conflicts. Unraveling and addressing these complex issues may take considerable time and effort. And yet not be be completely uprooted from the consciousness.
I personally have gone through this journey and I have become a life coach today because I wish to support people going through the same.
There is no one path to get rid of negative emotions and memories.
But I do believe that we need to attend the root cause of an emotion.
What I mean by it is every emotion creates an unique sensation in our body. De-linking the sensation from the event and observing the sensation, observing the pattern of our breath, truly works. Through the breath we overcome the sensation and the emotion. The healing then, is natural and spontaneous. And I say this because our breath and emotions are connected. We all know when we laugh our breathing pattern is diffent, when we sigh it changes, and when we cry it is again different. So clearly there is a link between our breath and emotional quality.
So working on our breathing pattern really works for healing purposes. It works miraculously!
In conclusion, I would like to gently assure you that none of these events or emotions has touched you deeply. Your soul and your being is immortal. It’s a journey you are on!
You are like the fleeting essence of the incense!.
Can anything touch that essence?
You are light!
Can anyone touch light?
Yes, you are that essence! You are that light!
Impressions of events are all on the surface level! Once you start meditation you will know what I mean. Meditation is not a luxury anymore! Like you clean your hands with soap and water to get rid of dirt, meditation needs to included in your lifestyle to instill your own mental well being, your own wellness.
Meditation brings us into direct contact with ourselves, wherein we find that we are unbeatable, that there are no wounds in us. If there are any painful blemishes they at all they are only on the surface level. And the healing on the surface level happens very easily, the moment you realise that you are simple and you are pure.
So, please stop over thinking and dwelling on past episodes and living them again and again and reinforcing them. Instead learn the tools and techniques that will help you to delink yourself from them.
Practicing breathing techniques known as pranayama and regular meditation for just twenty minutes a day has helped me immensely in my journey.
